Banila Co Hello Sunny Hydrating Sun Essence SPF50 PA++++

My thoughts on Banila Co Hello Sunny Hydrating Sun Essence SPF50 PA++++

I bought this during my Korea trip. You can read more here: https://www.imanabdulrahim.com/2018/12/skincare-shopping-in-korea.html

What it claims?
The sun isn't the only source of harmful UV rays, in fact, UV rays are everywhere! All the more reason for you to wear sunscreen even while indoors.  The Hello Sunny Hydrating Sun Essence is the perfect sun protection whether it's sunny or cloudy outside. It has a lightweight and thin texture that is comfortable for daily wear. It contains SPF50+ PA++++ to ensure that your skin is protected from strong UV rays. This variant contains azulene that calms down irritated skin while providing it with lasting moisture. For sensitive skin.  The Hello Sunny collection is a sun care line that doesn't just prevent sun damage. It also relieves stress and provides hydration while giving the skin a healthy glow because of its birch tree and spirulina extracts.

Ingredient list:
I can't find the full ingredient list on the website and the ingredient list on the box is in Korean.

I tried to Google translate the ingredients and this is what I found.

Panjang gila, and banyak essential oils.

Sunscreen filter used:
Homosalate
Ethylhexyl Salicylate
Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone)
Bis-Ethylhexyloxyphenol Methoxyphenyl Triazine (Tinosorb S)
Octocrylene
Isoamyl p-Methoxycinnamate

All chemical filters and no physical filters (titanium dioxide or zinc oxide) so this is a chemical sunscreen.

Packaging and design

It comes in a 50ml white opaque bottle with a purple cap and a sturdy pump. I love the pump cause it is easy to use and dispense the product. It is also very hygienic. The design is also simple and cute, terus rasa nak guna lepas beli. And this is the first sunscreen I reached for walaupun I beli banyak lagi sunscreen lain tapi I pilih yang ni untuk try sebab I tak pernah try sunscreen yang dalam bottle and pump like this.

Scent
No strong sunscreen smell, it smells herbal-ish and refreshing!

Texture and formula
The texture is lightweight cream-gel and absorbs nicely into the skin and leaves a dewy finish. It absorbs nicely on the skin. Since I have dry skin, the texture is really nice for me since it didn't makes my skin feels drier and tight.

My thoughts
To be complete honest, I didn't read any reviews, didn't checked the ingredients first. I YOLO je. Terus guna. The SPF protection is high (SPF50). Kalau dekat Malaysia, seeloknya kita pakai SPF30-50. And the PA rating is very high. PA++++. So you should get enough protection kalau pakai dalam kuantiti yang betul iaitu sebanyak dua jari. And it didn't feel greasy at all walaupun pakai banyak.

For the ingredient list, if you have sensitive skin, you might wanna avoid it since it contains few sunscreen filters that MAY NOT be suitable for you (eg. Octocrylene, Avobenzone). Essential oils pun banyak, and it contains alcohol. But for me, dia tak drying sangat.

You can read more about alcohol here:

As for the claims:
It has a lightweight and thin texture that is comfortable for daily wear? I would say yes.
Hydration? Yes for me.
For sensitive skin? Not really.

In conclusion, if you have sensitive skin, better check the ingredients first.

That's all, thanks for reading!
