Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Whitening Moisture Gel SPF50 PA++ Review

My thoughts on Sunplay Skin Aqua UV Whitening Moisture Gel SPF50 PA++

I bought this at Watsons around RM30. You can get this at any drugstore.

What it claims?
1. Combines 3 types of Moisturizing ingredients. Hyaluronic Acid provides superior moisture retention capacity for long hours hydration, keeping skin soft and significantly smooth . MPC Moisturizing ingredient & Carrot Root Extract helps to improve skin elasticity and keep skin smooth & youthful looking
2. Contains Arbutin to help fight dark spots for visibly fair & radiant skin
3. Ultra light hydrating gel formula easily absorbs and is non-greasy
4. Suitable for daily use on face & body
5. Gentle & Mild formula
6. No alcohol, fragrance and mineral oil. Low irritation

Why I bought it?
Because it's pink, it has no alcohol and fragrance, and it's quite affordable. So I nak try!

Packaging and design
It comes in a 80 ml pink plastic squeezable bottle with a white screwable cap. Nasib baik cap yang ni tak hilang lagi.

Texture and finishing

It has a white light gel consistency, which is quite runny and thin. Tak thick and melekit. Since I have dry skin, the texture is not really moisturizing for me. Tapi okay je and absorbs quite fast. It has very minimal white cast. Almost tak ada white cast.

Scent
I hate the scent. The sunscreen scent is quite strong, macam bau liquid paper tu. Tapi bila apply, tak bau dah. Cuma bila tuang atas tangan tu, the scent macam mengganggu sikit. Tak fun!

Ingredients

(As above)

It has 5 types of UV filters (semua chemical filters) which are:
1. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Octinoxate) - may cause allergic reaction to some people (tapi I okay je)
2. Homosalate - UVB protection
3. Ethylhexyl Triazone
4. Bis-ethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine (Tinosorb S)
5. Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate - (Univul A Plus) which is a very good UVA protection

It contains paraben. About the paraben, you can read here: Paraben, bahaya ke tak?

My experience

I noticed about the Solarex-3 technology at the packaging. About Solarex-3 technology:

It claims to have multiple UV filters which is true since it has 5 UV filters, tapi masalah dia sekarang ni, the PA protection is PA++ which is moderate je. I like my sunscreen to be at least PA+++, kalau PA++++ lagi bagus. PA ni Japan punya rating system untuk label berapa banyak UVA protection. Lagi banyak plus sign (+), lagi tinggi UVA protection. As for the SPF protection, dah okay dah sebab duduk dekat Malaysia, seeloknya SPF30-50.

The texture is quite okay, although I prefer my sunscreen to be a bit sticky and smooth. Tak suka yang jenis absorbs semua and leave a matte/pwedery finish. Rasa tak best. Tapi ni personal preference je. But the scent memang I tak suka. Tapi terpaksa la habiskan juga kan.

It didn't irritates or break me out, my skin feels comfortable with this sunscreen, not greasy, there is no white cast and looks good under my makeup. Plus, the price is quite affordable, 80ml for RM30+. Yang ni boleh la jugak pakai lama.

Recommended for?
All skin type.

Who will not love this?
Very oily skin since I rasa it will make you feel a bit greasy or very dry skin.

Will I repurchase?
Nope, unless they improve the scent

That's all, thanks for reading!
