[Review & Tips] Coconut Oil

The first time I heard about the benefit of coconut oil is from youtube. And then I did my own research and terus terpengaruh nak try.

Nutro Coco Virgin Coconut Oil. 

I bought this from Mercato, Pavillion for RM18.90. Dekat Jaya Grocer, Cold Storage and even AEON pun ada jugak.

Why I bought this Coconut Oil (and reviews!)

1. To remove my makeups! Normally I'll tuang the coconut oil on the cotton pad and slowly remove my makeups. Sometimes I'll massage the oil on my skin, lepastu hilangkan semua makeups pakai cotton pad. Macam cuci muka. Semua mascara yang waterproof, semua senang nak remove. Quick and effective! Lepas dah hilang semua makeup, baru cuci muka pakai the normal cleanser. So this coconut oil can also be used as oil cleansing. Tak perlu beli banyak banyak produk lain dah.

2. This coconut oil also moisturize the skin, because the normal makeup remover sometimes will irritates or make your skin tight/dry. Hence, my skin becomes softer and moisturized, tak kering. Another plus point!

3. As a lip moisturizer! Pakai dekat bibir so that bibir tak kering sangat!

4. Hair treatment. Apply generous amount dekat rambut, pakai shower cap and wait for one-two hours. Lepastu bilas and basuh rambut. Result: Your hair will become more soft and shiny. And smells nice too! (If you're a fan of coconut scent). Do it once a week is enough.

5. Great for dry skin! But for me, it's a bit oily kalau nak letak dekat kulit. Macam, letak minyak dekat kulit kan, of course berminyak.... Tapi letak sikit sikit okay lah! I'd prefer using a lotion.

6. A a shaving cream. Takde lah sore sangat kulit tu.

7. Prevent stretch marks! Sapu dekat perut and tempat tempat berkaitan during pregnancy.

Other beauty use of Coconut Oil that I haven't tried yet, (TAPI KENA TRY)

1. Breath freshener. Kumur pakai coconut oil, because it can help to clear the germs inside your mouth. This technique is known as 'oil pulling' -- Okay, kumur pakai minyak... Tak pelik ke rasa dia??

2. Undereye cream, because it has anti-aging properties and prevent wrinkles.

3. Itch relief & insect repellent. 

4. Moisturizer. Apply thin layer on your skin and remove the excess oil with a towel.

Andd, the main reason why I love coconut oil, is because it is NATURAL. Tak risau lah chemical pelik pelik nak letak dekat muka, kulit and rambut. And I loooooove the smell <3

[Review & Comparison] Garnier, Maybelline & Sephora Micellar Water

Basically, micellar water is a makeup remover that removes your makeup and cleanse your face. Just tuang je atas cotton pad and wipe your face with it. For eyes, you can soak your eyes for about 15 seconds before wiping your eye makeup away. It is gentle, so you don't even have to rinse your face. Kalau malas, sebelum tidur, boleh cuci je makeup pakai micellar water and cotton pad lepastu terus tidur. Tak payah nak cuci muka dah. (But I'll always wash my face lepas tu, sebab nak lagi yakin)

Sephora Triple Action Cleanser Water, Maybelline Micellar Water and Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water

Product info: Capture impurities and remove makeup from face and eyes. Contains soothing calendula extract for absolute comfort. Ultra light, leaves the skin soft and refreshed.

Price: RM49 for 200ml. (RM0.25/1ml)

Where to find: Any Sephora Outlet.

Maybelline Micellar Water. Clean Express Miracle Water.

Product info: Removes light makeup, trapped dust and dirt. Hydrates. Freshens like a toner. No need to rinse. No alcohol, fragrance and oil.

Price: RM19.90 for 120ml (RM0.17/ml)

Where to find: Any Watson, Guardian, Maybelline counter.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.

Product info: Purifies and remove makeup in 1 gesture. Captures and lifts away residue from fac, eyes and lips like a magnet. Non-sticky, non-oily and without perfume, suitable for all skin including sensitive skin.

Price: RM9.90 for 125ml (RM0.08/ml)

Where to find: Any Watsons or Guardian outlet.

RESULT:

Before applying the micellar waters.

After applying Sephora Triple Action Cleansing Water. (Focus on the left) Can easily remove eyeshadow, eyeliner and blusher.

After applying Maybelline Micellar Water (Focus in the middle) Can easily remove eyeshadow, eyeliner and blusher. Hardly removes the Colourpop liquid lipstick. Tapi Colourpop memang susah nak remove pun.

After applying Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. (Focus on the right) Can easily remove eyeshadow, eyeliner and blusher and slightly lipsticks.

MY VERDICT

Sephora's Triple Action Cleansing Water is not really suitable to remove lipsticks, sebab dia rasa pahit bila kena dekat bibir. Totally not loving it. And it contains fragrance, which kind of irritates my skin a bit. Guna sekali sekala bila desperate, okay kot.

For Maybelline's, it kind of making my skin a bit tight and dry after using it. It is also a bit sticky so lagi selesa cuci muka lepas pakai, although dia kata no need to rinse. But maybe just because of my dry skin.

I'd prefer Garnier Micellar Water because it is very affordable, and the cheapest among three. RM0.08/ml je! It removes my makeup enough, sebab normally memang tak pakai heavy makeup pun, so this one is enough for me. It doesn't dries my skin at all.

Cons, all these micellar water can't remove waterproof mascara. Kena pakai normal makeup remover or I'd normally use coconut oil.

Garnier Micellar Water is highly recommended kalau nak affordable and effective makeup remover! Totally worth the hype!  It's small, so I can just campak campak dalam bag. And I love it because it's pink! (Takde kaitan)

[Review] Colourpop Lipsticks comparison!

Today, I'd like to review Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip, Ultra Satin Lip & the Lippie Stix! 

Colourpop has 4 ranges of lip products, which are:

1. Ultra Matte Lip (47 shades)

2. Ultra Satin Lip (24 shades)

3. Lippie Stix which has 8 finishings (Crème (4), Matte X (16), Satin Luxe (1), Sheer (8), Satin (10), Glossy (3), Matte (30), Pearlized (1))

4. Lippie Pencil (24 shades)

My Review

Ultra Matte Lip
Price: $6 so kalau convert its around RM25 tapi kalau beli oreder instashop, banyak yang preorder, the price range is RM 35-45. Kalau ready stock, normally RM50-60.

Dries completely matte. Bila pakai, cepat je dia dries to matte. Tak melekit bila pakai, does not transfer, kiss proof and veryyy pigmented. Long lasting, tahan lama sangat bila pakai. However, it's very drying, memang kena pakai lipbalm dulu, make sure to exfoliate your lips before applying, hard to remove at the end of the day like ya rabbi sakit jiwa sikit bila nak remove tu, kena tonyoh betul betul! Bila reapply, dia jadi flaky.

Overall, not my favourite formula although ramai orang suka sebab dia nampak beriya bila pakai and susah sangat nak remove so cam takpelah, tak minat sangat. If you are a lipstick junkie, you would probably love this but I'd prefer more natural lipstick hehe

Ultra Satin Lip
Price: Same as UML

Comparing with UML, its not drying and moisturizing because of the finish satin, however memang transfer, tak kiss proof. It's very pigmented, warna cantik bila apply, so smooth. The formula is better than UML but, because the satin finish, rasa melekit sikit.

Lippie stix matte 
Price: $5 so kalau convert, around RM20++. Boleh order dekat instashop around RM30++

The only reason why I bought this Lumiere Lippie Stix is because Kathleen Lights created it. Full coverage, very pigmented, matte finish but its not drying so takde lah kering sangat, still rasa moist and creamy. Kalau tengok tengok swatches dekat internet, it's more like a muted mauve, tapi bila pakai, jadi macam more to pink. (Alasan kulit melayu LOL)

Rate: 4/5 (sebab warna dia lari)

Me, in Lumiere

Kathleen Lights in Lumiere. Slightly different shade than I expected.

Lippie Stix Matte X
Price: $5 however tak banyak instashop yang buat preorder sebab this formula is the newest formula

Creamy and glides easily, easy to apply and takdelah dia bercapuk kering dekat bibir walaupun dia matte. Full coverage and very pigmented. Lightweight and comfortable, rasa macam selesa je dekat bibir, tak rasa macam berat sangat bila pakai and its not drying. Takde lah long lasting macam UML, kalau minum ok lagi, kalau makan, the inner lips dah hilang sikit lipstick dia. Kalau tak makan minum, yes long lasting. Transfer proof and kiss proof. Kalau try kiss belakang tangan, takde kesan sangat lah maksudnya. Love the formula!

[Review] Silky Girl Matte Junkie Lip Cream

Hi! I super love matte lipsticks and apparently Silky Girl has this new Matte Junkie Lip Cream which I super love!

All five of them.

From top to bottom: 01 Retro, 02 Glamour, 03 Rebel, 04 Vintage and 06 Vixen.

You can get it at Guardian, for RM21.90. Searched it at Watsons tapi takde. Guardian je ada tapi mostly dah habis stock, kemain eh korang beli.

So the review.

Pros:

• Very pigmented. Applying only once is already enough!
• Kissproof. Maksudnya lepas pakai, cuba try kiss tangan sendiri, warna dia tak melekat langsung! Which is so good.
• Long lasting! Minum air tak hilang. Tapi kalau makan berminyak or sup, of course dia hilang sikit, so need to touch up.
• Quite waterproof. Bila kena air, lepastu try gosok, tak hilang! Susah nak hilang.
• Bila apply dekat bibir, dia terus dry to matte. Tak perlu tunggu lama untuk kering.
• Very affordable!!

Cons:

• Bibir rasa kering so lipbalm is needed! But it's matte, all matte lipsticks are like that.
• Hard to remove. Tapi takdelah susah macam Colourpop UML, yang tu paling susah!

I really recommend this. Besttttt!!!! 4.8/5.0.

My Basic Drugstore Makeup Essentials For Beginners

1. Foundation
Function: To hide uneven tone or discolouration.
Suggestion: Boujois Healthy Mix Serum. Review here
Price: RM55
Where: Selected Watsons

or

A compact powder. I'm using Maybelline Clear Smooth All In One. Around RM20.

Pros:

• SPF 32 so I don't need to wear sunblock or suncreen
• Light to medium coverage, for daily use
• Can reduce my dark circles and redness

Cons:

• Because I have dry skin, I need to really moisturize my skin first, before using

2. Concealer

Function:Cover up dark circles, blemishes, parut jerawat.
Suggestion: Maybelline Pure Concealer Mineral in shade 01
Where: Any Watsons or Guardian
Price: RM18.90 (but normally ada discount)

Pros:

• Easy to blend
• Enough to hide my dark circles and blemishes
• Doesn't dry my skin
• Small, easy for travelling

Cons:

• Only have two shades, and the light shade is not light enough

3. Blusher

Function: Add colour to your cheeks, so that your face won't look pucat, berseri seri sikit
Suggestion: Wet n wild Mega Glo Illuminating Powder in Catwalk Pink
Price: Around RM25
Where: Sasa outlet (You can find the list of Wet n Wild store here.)

Pros:

• Can be use as a highlighter, blusher and bronzer! 
• Can work individually or blended together.
• I usually use the pale shimmery colour as my highlighter
• Can be use as eyeshadow too. Sometimes I apply the champagne bronze colour on my eyelids.
• Easy for travelling

Cons:

• The lid is screw top, susah nak pulas lepastu bukak. Lagi senang kalau flip open je.

However, I LOVE THIS! 4 in one. Highlighter, blusher, bronzer and eyeshadow.

4. Mascara

Function: Open up and define your eyes, making you look more awake
Suggestion: Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara
Price: RM15.90
Where: Selected Watsons

Pros:

• Nice volume and length
• I love the pink packaging
• No clumping 
• Cheap!
• Easy to remove

Cons:

• Not a waterproof mascara

5. Eyeliner Pencil



Function: Make your eyes pop

• Easy to apply even for beginner and glides on smoothly!

Pros:

• Easy to control
• Have spoolie at the other end! So you can brush your brows. LOVE

• Not retractable. Leceh nak sharp kasi tajam.

I love Essence because it is super cheap, mostly memang under RM20. And high quality. I did an Essence haul post here .

[Review] Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Hi.

Selama ni malas pakai foundation sebab rasa tak perlu, malas, leceh, bedak pun okay and macam macam lah. So saja lah nak try Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum ni.(Sebab harga affordable) Review pun banyak yang bagus. Meh sini nak try sikit.

Price: Around RM55

Shade: #52

Packaging
Slim glass bottle. Tapi takpe campak campak pun tak pecah tapi jangan lah campak suka hati pulak. Senang nak bawa travel. Dia ada pump so tekan je pump nanti keluar. Tak payah nak cedok ke apa ke.

Scent
Disebabkan bahan utama dia buah, bau dia pun macam buah, best! Fruity-scent gituu.

Texture

Light texture, untuk light coverage je. Tak pekat, kalau letak dekat tangan, nanti dia macam mengalir sikit.

Ha nampak tak, macam nak mengalir sikit. Yang atas tu yang dah blended.

Coverage & Finish

Light/sheer coverage, okay lah nak conceal redness and dark circle sikit sikit. Dewy finishing and nampak natural dekat kulit, tak nampak macam bercapuk ha makeup tu. Boleh feeling flawless jap.

Before (tak pakai apa apa dekat muka)

After. (Foundation je, tak pakai benda lain lagi)

Overall

Rating dekat MakeupAlley is quite high, 4.1/5. (By the way, MakeupAlley ni website best kalau nak tengok review makeups, ada banyak review and boleh compare banyak products!)

Pros:

• Best untuk dry skin (like me) sebab dia tak bercapuk sangat. Kalau dah moisturize kulit, and pakai primer, better.
• Natural coverage
• For daily use
• Yellow undertone, sesuai lah untuk kulit orang Melayu ni
• Affordable

Cons:

• Tak long lasting. Around 5-6 hours je.
• Light coverage, means kalau ada parut ke dark undereye, kena pakai concealer
• I got breakouts! Lepas pakai nanti bila remove, naik merah merah tapi dia cepat hilang so okay takpe, dimaafkan.

My rating: 4.5/5!

My 5 favourite daily lipsticks under RM30!

Hi! As a student, of course I'd like to find affordable makeups, especially lipsticks! So here are my five favourite daily lipsticks, under RM30!

1) Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty (RM13.90)

I've blogged about it here. The colour is very natural to the lips, not too pink, not too nude. The finishing is creamy tapi takdelah sampai melekit and really moisturizing, however it is not really pigmented so kena apply dua tiga lapis, but I looooove the colour! The packaging is also sturdy. Tak nampak murah!

Looks a bit glossy, because it is creamy. You can get it at any Watsons that carries Essence. I bought mine at Watsons Jusco Cheras Selatan for only RM13.65 (sebab diskaun hehehe), Watsons je tau, Guardian takde.

2) NYX Extra Creamy Round Lipstick in Tea Rose (RM19)

Because it is also creamy, it is very moisturizing. Its a bit pinkish to compare with the Essence's one, but it still looks natural for daily use. I don't really like the smell, but it doesn't lingers after you apply it, so okay lah.

You can get it at Sephora (rasanya ada lagi, sebab dah lama dah beli, among my first ever lipstick hehehe)

3) Catrice's Ultimate Colour Lipstick in 020 Maroon (RM21.90)

I love the packaging, rasa mahal and penutup dia ketat, susah nak terbuka bila campak dalam bag. It is pigmented, beautiful shade, and the smell is sooo nice, however because it is creamy, it bleeds out of the lips, senang terkeluar dari landasan bibir haha so, wearing lip liner is a must.

The colour is very very natural for my lips. You can get it at any Guardian that carries Catrice. I got mine at One Utama for only RM19++ sebab diskaun hehe. Guardian je tau, Watsons takde.

4) Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Bare It All. (RM24)

I have this love-hate relationship with this lipstick. I hate the packaging, bila pegang memang rasa murah, penutup dia ya rabbi senang terbuka, that is why there are stains on the cap, habis kotor my makeup bag. However, the finishing is matte, so pigmented, so beautiful, and so cheap. I really love how the lipstick appears on my lips. But the packaging, and the smell, urghhh!

This lipstick is also the dupe for MAC Velvet Teddy. almost the same shade, but of course, way cheaper. If you don't want to fork out RM74 for MAC Velvet Teddy, buy this one! I bought mine from twitter for only RM18 hehe but you can get it at SaSa for around RM24. It used to be RM22.90 tapi dah naik harga. Or you can find them online for only around RM16-RM18. Yes.

5) NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Stockholm (RM29)

I think everyone owns at least one NYX SMLC. My favourite is Stockholm. I love the color, natural on my lips, not too nude, not too pink, it's like soft peach. It's creamy, however it gives matte finishing on your lips. I love the smell, it's like vanilla!

I love the finishing of this lipstick. You can get it at Sephora. However, the lipstick is always out of stock at Sephora. Dah nak habis dah, cepatlah restock please Sephora!

My Essence Haul

I am totally in love with Essence! First, sebab dia murah. Like reaaaally murah! Secondly, walaupun dia murah, but the quality is good! Ni sebenarnya dah beli last month lagi. Semua beli dalam masa sehari ha amek kau. Essence ni dekat Watsons je tau, Guardian takde.

1. I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara (RM16.90)
Love it! (Yelah sebab dia warna pink kann..) Tapi kadang kadang dia clumping but okay lah for beginner like me. Cuma kena curl kan dulu eyelashes before applying this, or not, nanti eyelashes jatuh sebab berat (?)

2. Eyeliner Pen Waterproof (RM16.90)
Better than Catrice's. Okay je lah.

3. Silky Touch Blush (RM15.90)
Dia ada enam shades tapi I beli dua je, one is Adorable and the other one is Summer Dreaming.

4. Soo Glow! Cream To Powder Highlighter in 20 Bright Up Your Life (RM16.90)
The texture is creamy tapi bila letak dekat muka, dia nampak macam powder. Malas nak pakai sebab dia tak lekat kalau pakai brush, so kena pakai dengan jari, pastu malas. Tapi untuk cheap highlighter, it works lah.

5. Long Lasting Lip Liner (RM8.90)

Dah ada warna gelap so beli natural one, code 05 Lovely Frappucino and 07 Plum Cake. I wanted to buy the Satin Mauve one (the one people have been raving about) tapi ya rabbi semua Watsons dah out of stock! So yang paling dekat dengan Satin Mauve is Plum Cake. I love both of the colours!

6. Long Lasting Lipstick (RM13.90)

I love the lipsticks sebab murah and warna cantik cantik! The texture is creamy. 

Semua lipstick yang penting. Red, pink and natural. I personally love Natural Beauty. Its my everyday lipstick to class!
