Clean Beauty Skincare Routine

Hello everyone! For this post, I am collaborating with Wako to share with you about Clean Beauty. If you haven't heard about Wako Beauty, you can check them out here: www.wako.com.my . I've bought few items from them previously :P

Based on Wako, Clean Beauty products are FREE from Parabens, Sulfates, Artifical Coloring, Artificial Fragrance, and Mineral Oil. It's good for sensitive skin and safe for your skin. So they sent me five products for me to try and give my thoughts on them.

If you are still confused on what to use first, is it toner or serum, when should you use sheet mask, then you can refer to the image from Wako's instagram below. So easy to understand!

Why is it important to have a proper skincare routine? A proper routine will make sure the product will work efficiently for your skin and you can actually see the result that you really desired.

So anyways, let's start!

Step 1: Cleanse

I normally cleanse my face twice a day, during my morning routine and night routine. For night routine, I will do the double cleansing method. I personally will choose a gentle cleanser that will not makes my skin feels tight or drying to maintain my skin barrier.

This Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam stated that the pH level is 5 (which I really love) since I really would recommend you to use a low pH cleanser to maintain your skin barrier! There is no harsh surfactant in this cleanser that will make your skin feels tight or dry. Most importantly, it is FREE from Parabens, Sulfates, Artifical Coloring, Artificial Fragrance, and Mineral Oil. Another thing that I would personally avoid is alcohol cause it makes my skin drier. This product also does not contains alcohol.

Although the name is Madagascar Centella Ampoule 'Foam', it is not really foamy that will make your skin feels dry after using it. I love how it makes my skin feels clean, fresh and comfortable after using this. It has a cream texture that feels really luxury upon using it.

I really recommend this if you are looking for a gentle and low pH cleanser. Nothing to complain. The size is also larger than normal cleanser which are usually 100ml. This product is 125ml.

Step 2: Toner

There are a lot of toner out there, you just need to find a suitable toner for your skin type.

Madagascar Centella Asiatica Toning Toner is an gentle exfoliating toner. It can exfoliate your skin gently, and suitable to use daily. It contains Gluconolactone which is a PHA (polyhydroxy acid). The function is almost the same as AHA (alpha-hydroxy-acid) but the molecular structure is bigger, so it is suitable for sensitive skin because penetration ability is limited.

Caution: Make sure your basic skincare routine is already strong before start using any chemical exfoliate (AHA/BHA/PHA)

The texture is very light and absorbs nicely into the skin. You can either use a cotton pad or using my palm. For me, I prefer using just my palm. It's really gentle but effective to use. If you have dull and rough skin but you are afraid to use a chemical exfoliate, you can start by using this.

This is the old packaging. You can see the new packaging here:

Step 3: Ampoule

Essence, serum, ampoule etc are only optional in a skincare routine, however, it is nice to use and incorporate in your routine. If you have a lot of skin concerns, you can explore your skincare options by adding any of these.

For this skincare routine, I'll feature Madagascar Centella Asiatica Ampoule.

It contains 100% Centella Asiatica extract. Centella Asiatica extract is a very famous ingredient especially in K-beauty. There's a lot of benefit for your skin, which is good for hydration, to soothe your skin and also as an antioxidant. It can also restore your skin barrier.

The texture is not too thick, it's lighter than serum but definitely thicker than a toner. It doesn't makes my skin feels sticky or tacky after using this. I love the soothing effect of this ampoule. If you have any redness or PIE, this is a good ampoule for you.

Step 4: Mask

I use Leaders Insolution Amino Mask (Moisture) . It is recommended for dry and dull skin. I don't really fancy sheet masks because most of them normally irritates my skin. But this one is good. It soothes my skin, making my skin feels soft, supple and hydrated.

My skin feels a bit sticky after removing the sheet mask, but after I apply my moisturizer, I don't feel the stickiness anymore. It contains fragrance, in case your skin is sensitive to it. But for me, it's all good.

Step 5: Moisturizer

For the final step, I am going to share one of my fav moisturizer, Apieu Madecassoside Cream. This is my second tube already. Although the name is "cream", the texture is not heavy and suitable for Malaysian climate. It absorbs nicely into the skin without any tacky feeling. If you have oilier skin type, you can apply only a small amount and it is enough to moisturizes your skin.

This moisturizer is good if you are looking for a soothing moisturizer. However, it contains essential oil. Certain skin might be sensitive to it.

For me, I personally love the texture and the soothing effect after using this product.

Don't forget to include sunscreen in your morning routine and reapply it every 2-3 hours ya!
